September weddings have a quiet kind of magic to them – softer light, slower moments and a sense that everything is just beginning to settle into something meaningful. Victoria and James’ intimate wedding at Compton Verney in Warwickshire captured all of that beautifully, with a day that felt effortlessly relaxed, personal and full of genuine moments.

The morning began with both Victoria and James getting ready surrounded by their closest family. With just a small group attending the day, the atmosphere was calm, warm and full of excitement rather than nerves.  And of course, no wedding morning is complete without a little personality – enter Luca, their adorable dog, who was very much part of the day from the very beginning.

The ceremony took place at midday in the chapel at Compton Verney, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The light in the chapel is truly something else – soft, romantic and flooding the space in the most flattering way.  As they walked back down the aisle as newlyweds, the chapel bells rang out – one of those timeless moments that always gives you goosebumps.

After the ceremony, everyone gathered outside for a joyful confetti moment (with Luca making a starring appearance, of course!). The intimate gathering of guests then enjoyed drinks and canapés to the sound of a harpist creating a beautifully relaxed atmosphere, this part of the day was all about connection – laughter, hugs and those in-between moments that often become the most treasured memories.

Compton Verney is one of those venues where every direction offers something stunning, and Victoria and James made the most of it.  We wandered the grounds for their couple portraits, stopping at some of their favourite spots: the iconic bridge, the grand columns at the front of the house and some quiet corners of the grounds for relaxed, candid moments (their absolute priority).  Victoria and James wanted their photos to feel natural and reflective of who they are as a couple – lots of laughter, very little posing, and just enjoying time together. And honestly, that’s exactly what we captured.

The whole day felt incredibly personal, woven together with thoughtful touches from the people closest to them – from Victoria’s sister-in-law Lauren doing her makeup that morning, to arriving in her parents’ cars, and having their dog Luca by their side throughout the celebrations. The wedding breakfast in Adams Hall carried that same intimate feel, followed by heartfelt, laughter-filled speeches from both of Victoria’s parents, James, and Victoria herself.

One of the most special moments came with the cake, lovingly made by James’ sister Molly – a perfect reflection of how much of the day was shaped by family. Instead of a traditional evening reception, they continued with a relaxed BBQ at a family home in Kenilworth, keeping everything informal and centred around simply spending time together. It was a day that felt completely true to them – meaningful, unpretentious and full of the kind of moments that matter most.  Just a beautiful day centred around love, family and enjoying every moment.

And that’s exactly what makes a wedding unforgettable.
