A day of all weathers but the best love story…

I was greeted with the warmest welcome by Lacey and her bridal crew on a June morning at Rackleys, a stunning venue in the Chiltern Hills. I kicked the day off capturing the most beautiful details including a bouquet of peonies, a personalised denim jacket, stunningly elegant stationery and roses in the most gorgeous antique soft caramel colour I ever did see!

Holly & Laura had the girl gang glammed up and looking fabulous before the bridesmaids donned cocoa coloured gowns and Maid of Honour Katie helped Lacey put on her stunning Wed2B gown with bespoke made sleeves by The Modiste. Just before the main event, the heavens opened….and I mean really opened! The Rackleys team grabbed umbrellas and covered the girls up as they made their way across the Courtyard to the Groom Ollie and the boys who were patiently awaiting the Bride’s arrival.

We spent most of the day dodging and diving the totally random rain storms but luckily we swerved them and it didn’t stop play! The sun beamed down as we captured portraits which included shots of the couple’s gorgeous pooch Dottie!

The speeches were made before a wedding breakfast of a Hog Roast (a very fitting meal for the new Mr and Mrs Hogg!). As Father of the Bride, Groom, Maid of Honour and Best Man each took their turn to share their words, guests went from tears to howls of laughter. The Best Man’s story of the groom had everyone in fits of giggles followed by announcing the sweepstake winner of the guest who had guessed how long the speeches would take…bagging a £200 prize!

So golden hour didn’t quite show it’s face but we still headed out to admire the rolling landscape at Rackleys and were treated to a display from some local deer who hopped through the fields! The couple headed back to cut the cake and tower of sweet treats which were supplied by friends and family, then hit the dance floor for first dance followed by a Daughter-Dad dance with Apollo Soul Evening entertaining the guests for the rest of the night.
